The Team

James Barron - Planning Consultant

James Barron, is a Charted Town Planner and has 41 years experience in the Town Planning profession. He has had extensive experience working in both the private sector and public centre. James established Barron Planning in 1988 which operated on a full time basis until 1993 when he returned to local Government, he has been the Planning Enforcement Team Leader and a Senior/Principle Planner at Bexley Council, Newham Council and most recently at Gravesham Council.

Sam Sterling – Technical Director

Sam is the Technical Director of Gill Sterling. He has worked on numerous projects, but his main passion for design and development shines through in larger, more complex developments such as M Block and King Street. At home he is a keen cook favouring the Italian recipes of his heritage and enjoys walks with his dog which has been known to sometimes help out at the office. Good boy.

Hanan Hassan – Architectural Assistant

Since joining our team, Hanan has worked on a range of projects based in Kent which includes alterations to Grade II listed buildings, renovations, property conversions and newbuild developments. Being mindful of the demands of the industry, Hanan offers a unique perspective to the team. As a highly motivated and diligent professional, she is always in pursuit of knowledge and strives to keep up with the latest advancements in the field. Her meticulous work approach, organizational skills, and keen attention to detail are reflected in her work. Besides work, she enjoys painting, reading and experimenting in the kitchen.

Han Ebcin – Architectural Designer

Han has joined the team following the completion of her studies and has been a part of the Gill Sterling family since 2017. Han is a Senior Architectural Designer with extensive experience in designing and guiding new build residential and mixed-use schemes through the complex planning system. She has been a part of the Gill Sterling Family since 2017 and has delivered many of our most recognised and celebrated projects. Her creative flare has been a key driver in the success of numerous projects owing to fantastic façade designs and quality living spaces. Han is the key contact for projects in the North and East London areas. Outside of the office she likes to spend her time visiting exhibitions and trying new recipes!
